Virgin media - lowest common IQ?

I wanted to change some aspects of my Virgin Media account. So I phoned them.

It appeared I would have to wait up to 30 minutes to talk to a human being. Busy time for them apparently, 7am.

So I emailed explaining the delay situation and asking them to call me. I got a reply!

The reply said they would be delighted to assist me (top marks!) and suggesting I phone the number that I had encountered the 30 minute delay on (no marks!).

So my question is, which is the idiot? A piece of software designed by a cretin to respond to emails or just a cretin responding to emails?

Or maybe it's me. I eventually made the changes on-line. Which I guess is what I should have done in the first place.
